An Alpine County man who went missing in Mexico has been found dead months later

The body of a Northern California man missing since February 11 has been found in a secret burial site on Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, prosecutors in the state of Baja California Sur said Wednesday. State prosecutor Daniel de la Rosa said a local man and his sister were arrested in connection with the murder, which he said stemmed from a dispute over a traffic accident. Wilmer Trivett’s body was found near a quiet spot by a specially trained dog. Dodos Santos is a city on the Pacific coast. Trivett was camping in the area in his camper truck when it was found burned on February 23. Prosecutors said it appears Trivett was involved in a traffic accident with the two suspects some time ago. De La Rosa Trivett said. He alleges that he paid the two about $2,500 for damages or injuries, but the pair decided that wasn’t enough and then kidnapped and killed him. Both suspects face murder charges. Their full names have not been released in accordance with Mexican law. Prosecutors listed Trivett’s age as 80, but did not provide a hometown. However, American TV stations have reported that Trivette is from Markleville, California, near Lake Tahoe.
