The New York Times reports that FERENTZ violated NCAA rules regarding recruiting for starting quarterback Kate MCNAMARA. MCNAMARA joined Iowa from the transfer portal in 2022. Scott Doctorman reports that Ferentz and Budmeyer committed a recruiting violation during the recruitment of quarterback Kate McNamara. The penalty was imposed by the NCAA or the university.
