While a Davante Adams trade to the 49ers seems unlikely, San Francisco general manager John Lynch won’t rule out the possibility.
“We love our team. Davante is a hell of a player,” Lynch said Friday morning KNBR’s “Murph & Marcus.” “One thing we’ve shown is we’re always looking, we’re never afraid to look and see what’s there. We’re never afraid to pull the trigger. But coming into this year, we feel our roster is in a good place.
“We’ve endured some injuries, but we never say never. It has to work. It has to work for both parties, but it has to work for us. I won’t comment on any particular player, but right now we’re like where our roster is.”
Adams wants out of Las Vegas after two seasons in silver and black, and the Raiders have informed teams around the league that they are open to trading Adams, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.
The All-Pro receiver would love to reunite with one of his former NFL quarterbacks — Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets or Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints — Schefter.
But Adams is open to other locations as well. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and 49ers are among the teams that have either inquired about the six-time Pro Bowler or would be happy to land Adams. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Jupiter, citing sources, reported Adam’s thinking.
