Davante Adams Top Trade Destinations Reportedly Jets, Saints: Could He Play With Aaron Rodgers Again?

The Davante Adams-Las Vegas Raiders relationship didn’t work out, and now the wide receiver is reportedly looking to trade. But where? A new report revealed that Adams’ best landing spots were with familiar faces.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams wants to play for the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints because he knows their quarterbacks well: Aaron Rodgers of the Jets and Derek Carr of the Saints.

Adams spent eight seasons catching passes from Rodgers when they were both with the Green Bay Packers. They’ve become a dynamic duo on the field, and Rodgers speaks highly of Adams whenever he gets the chance.

As for the Saints, Adams knows Carr all too well. The two played together at Fresno State, and playing again with Carr is said to be one of the reasons Adams agreed to the blockbuster trade that took him from Green Bay to Las Vegas in 2022. Broke them and released Carr after a 6-11 season.

There’s another staff member who could tip the scale in the Saints’ favor: their wide receivers coach Keith Williams. According to Schefter, Williams has worked with Adams as his personal wide receivers coach, And cites Williams as his mentor.

Of the two teams, the Jets make the most sense for Adams and the Raiders. He’ll fit in there perfectly and won’t have to worry about the ball with his good friend Rodgers feeding him. Also, Rodgers needs a partner in New York to help him reach his full potential, someone he trusts, someone who knows him well and someone he’s comfortable throwing the ball to over and over again. It was Adams to a T. The Jets also have significant salary cap space ($15.3 million), while the Saints do not ($2.3 million).

Adams is not expected to play in the Raiders’ game against the Broncos on Sunday because of a hamstring injury. Although the injury is said to be real – it could keep him out for up to two weeks. According to The Athletic’s Diana Rusini – Adams not playing should come as no surprise given his desire to leave Las Vegas.

A trade appears to be the likely outcome of this breakdown, but the timeline remains murky so far. Will we see him on the Jets soon, or will he have to become part of another team?
