For better or worse, all eyes were on Selena Gomez at Tuesday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer and actress hit the pink carpet wearing a red Oscar de la Renta floral halter dress and matching accessories.
She cheered on her friend Taylor Swift as she drove her home Most hits of the night.
Gomez shared a photo of herself with Swift Instagram and joked about their looks.
“She’s stunning, I’m constipated” The caption above the image read.
Gomez also made a statement on her Instastories.
“I will no longer be a monument” It read. “I’d rather sit still than be pulled for being myself. More love.”
The “Only Murders in the Building” star didn’t say what prompted the statement, but people on social media commented on some of her expressions during the show.
During Olivia Rodrigo’s performance of “Vampire,” some tweeted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Gomez appeared shocked when Rodrigo rushed off the stage at one point.
Gomes had a good night. Nigerian star Rema won the Best Afrobeats Award for his song “Calm Down”.
