Wynonna Judd responded after fans expressed concern about her CMA Awards performance with Jelly Roll

Winona Judd Well aware of the commentary around her Initial performance at the 2023 CMA Awards. The 59-year-old country crooner took to Instagram and TikTok to respond to fans’ concerns after he took to the stage to sing “Need a Favor.” Jelly roll.

During the show, Judd grabbed a jelly roll, prompting many fans to worry about his health.

“‘Don’t read the comments’ they say…” Jude captioned the post.

In the video, a smiling Jude tells the camera, “Don’t read the comments, I read the comments!” Before the show, the headliner shared that fans were “concerned” after she and Jelly Roll opened the annual awards show.

“I’ll come clean with you. I was very nervous,” Judd admitted. “I came out and saw Jelly Roll and I wanted it to be so good for him, I could cry right now, but I’m not going to because I’m a fan of his and he asked me to sing. I was like, ‘Sure!’ I came out, I was so nervous, I just held on for dear life. That’s the main thing.”

Judd shared that he is traveling to Texas to resume his Back to Life tour, “Everything is great!”

ET’s Rachel Smith spoke with Judd After her performance at the CMA Awards, she spoke about her decision to join Jelly Roll on stage.

“I want people to show up for me as people want me to,” Judd explained to ET. “Because people have been so generous with me, now it’s my turn to be generous with people like Jelly Roll, and that’s what I do, and my job now is to get through it.”

Judd also spoke about her own health journey and her recent emotional scenes on stage.

“I have my ups and downs, that’s life, I tell the fans,” Judd shared. “Like the other night, I was emotional and I felt my mom. I just managed and said, ‘I need some water, I need someone to hold me while I take a deep breath and cry.’ And I do it, because that’s life.”

Naomi Judd, Wynonna’s mother, died in April 2022.

K sang “Love Can Build a Bridge” by Wynonna and Naomi’s mother-daughter duo, The Judes. Michelle closed the show.

“The first thing I said was, ‘I wouldn’t do this without Winona’s blessing. Before I did the song or the record. I called Winona,'” Jelly Roll told ET on the red carpet Wednesday in Nashville. “I have tremendous respect for Wynonna, I grew up listening to The Judds. I love Wynonna. And she said, ‘Not only do you want to do it. I want you to do it big!’
